Introduced in 1976, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak reference 8638 was the first dedicated lady’s Royal Oak, shrinking the iconic 39mm "Jumbo" design to a 29mm "Baby" format. Launched as part of the Royal Oak collection, it was designed to break the mold for women's watches by offering a luxury, durable automatic watch rather than just a dress piece. with a limited total run of roughly 1,400 pieces, making it a rare vintage find.
Description and Condition Report
Beautiful, sought-after and collectible Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Lady watch bearing the Ref 8638BA. It maintained the signature octagonal bezel, exposed screws, and "tapisserie" dial of the original 5402. Case and bracelet are 18Kt Yellow Gold. The case is very well preserved. The bracelet is quite long (approx 17.8cm total) making it suitable also for elegant and refined men. The grey dial is flawless. Original unlogged crown. The watch is aimed by the automatic 2062 Ap caliber.
