Omega Seamaster 600 Ploprof Vintage Professional Divers Watch Ref 166.077 Papers

The Omega "Ploprof” (short for Plongeur Professionnel) is one of the most distinctive and extreme dive watches ever created. Omega launched the "Ploprof Programme" in 1968. They developed and field-tested the watch alongside the world's leading saturation diving experts: French marine engineering company COMEX. Prototypes were strapped to divers during extreme commercial hard-hat operations.

The Seamaster 600 Ploprof officially debuted on the commercial market in 1971.

Monobloc Case: Cut from a single block of steel, the watch had no removable caseback. The movement could only be accessed through the front crystal, eliminating a major point of water entry.

The Locking Bezel: To prevent a diver from accidentally knocking the bezel out of place, Omega added a prominent red pusher on the upper right side. The bezel could only be rotated when this button was firmly pressed down.

Left-Side Square Crown: The crown was placed on the left side of the case.

Beautiful, Rare and Highly collectible Omega Seamaster Professional 600 vintage watch, also known as “Ploprof”. This timepiece it’s and early example (Mk2) produced and sold in 1973. The Mk2 model is distinguished by the Dial where the depth writing (600) is places below “Professional” and “Seamaster”. The dial is very well preserved with a still bright Blue Color. Original bezel. The monoblock steel case looks unmolested. The watch is fitted on its original steel bracelet ref 1162.
