    Universal Genève introduced the Compax line in 1936 as a functional multi-register chronograph. By the turn of the 1960s, the brand was modernizing its sports watches.The reference 222101/1 represents the arrival of the modern Compax aesthetic. This reference adopted the beautiful twisted lugs (lyre lugs). These cases were manufactured by the legendary Swiss casemaker Huguenin Frères (HF), famously known for designing the iconic asymmetric twisted-lug case for the Omega Speedmaster.

    Beautiful and interesting Universal Genève Vintage Chronograph bearing the reference 222101/1. This watch belongs to the Compax collection. The stainless steel case with twisted lugs shows some signs of wear and it’s unrestored. The case size is 36mm. The original brushed argentèe dial shows a warm and enjoyable patina. The movement is the Hand Wind Ug 281. The crown has been replaced.
