General Overview
During the 40s the French government instituted a ban for gold imports and all the gold items had to be produced with the metal sold directly from the Bank of France or some authorized jewelers. Swiss watch brands started to export to France their watches without the cases, which were then made locally, under license, by all the amazing jewelers located in Paris. Since all these jewelers used to hand-made their objects, not many of these French-made cases watches were produced among the years.
